Who Are Arsenal’s Top Players Of The Season?

The Gunners have shown serious improvement over the past months and are looking really promising for next season. A few players have stood out though and even helped motivate their teammates through hard work and an amazing attitude on the pitch.

The first on the list and probably this year’s fan favorite is Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean looked like he was carrying the team on his shoulders at times and motivated colleagues into trying to become better with each match. With 22 goals and 11 assists in 46 games, the 26 year old really left his mark at the Emirates in his first season as a Gunner.

The second man who impressed is Coquelin. He emerged from nowhere but held his own against teams like Chelsea. He improved almost instantaneously and quickly adapted to Wenger’s demands to fill in the defensive midfielder spot. The 23 year old Frenchman who was called back from Charlton in December proved to be what Arsenal needed and could save the club a lot of money if he manages to maintain his form.

Another youngster who makes this list is Hector Bellerin. The right-back was more than capable of replacing Debuchy who since moving to London, has sadly spent most of his time in recovery. The young Spaniard, just like Coquelin, managed an impeccable performance against Chelsea and will probably be Wenger’s number one choice for next season.

One last name worth mentioning is Giroud. The Frenchman who is underappreciated most of the time, carried the attack by himself once more after Welbeck slipped later in the season after a good start. Up until now Giroud has managed to score 18 times and provide 4 assists which is kind of a nice surprise considering he had to recover after a broken foot.

There are two dishonorable mentions which have been in contrast with the 4 players mentioned above. Mesut Ozil and Szczesny seemed to be the total opposite of Sanchez, lacking determination and influencing Arsenal’s game a lot less than they should have.
