Wenger To Convince PSG Starlet

Arsene Wenger will persuade Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot to sign up for Arsenal and ignore interest from Chelsea, after the Blues have registered concrete interest in the want-away Frenchman this summer, according to the Express.

Arsenal began their Barclays Premier League campaign in a positive way as they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium. However, Palace could penetrate through the defence quite easily which will be a concern for Wenger. Despite adding Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Callum Chambers to the squad, Arsenal did not dominate the game as the supporters expected, sending Wenger back to the drawing board. With a little over two weeks left in the transfer window, Arsenal will look to get a couple of quality signings that can help them score more goals. Theo Walcott is sidelined, leaving Wenger with no choice but to play with Yaya Sanogo or Giroud up front. In the midfield, Wenger will want to add quality players to give current regulars good competition for their places. At the moment with Arteta injured, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are almost certain to start most games, leaving little competition among the reserves.

Rabiot played his youth career with several clubs as he was courted by various top sides around Europe. The 19-year old was touted as a potential star, but with lack of game time at PSG, Rabiot is looking to move.
