Wenger Starting To Gain Supporters’ Trust

Arsenal’s manager has had his ups and downs with supporters especially after a decade long trophy drought that just ended last season. One of the reasons for which the Gunners finally managed to win something was the fact that the French boss finally gave in and started making some big transfer offers. To be fair, he did wait to pay off the massive debt created from building a new stadium. Even so he has had his moments when he refused to bring anyone new and ended up costing the North Londoners a shot at the title or even at the Champions League. Fortunately for the Gooners, Wenger seems to have changed his attitude. He not only started spending big money on important players but he also reorganized his game patterns to focus on not letting defensive lapses cost the team. According to Metro, one of the first signs that Wenger is upping his game was the way he handled the match against Manchester City. He finally adapted to his adversary and managed to get rid of the idea that tactics should be set before the game and not during the game.

Another positive sign coming from Wenger involves his desire to secure Coquelin and also sign a second defensive midfielder. After stating that defensive midfielders are no longer that necessary, he seems to have decided Arsenal need definite reinforcements around that area of the pitch. Once again this proves that the Frenchman is finally starting to adapt to adversaries such as Chelsea, City or Liverpool who embraced a more modern approach when it comes to football.
