Wenger Solved Midfield Crisis With Brilliant Move

Wenger’s undeniable managerial skills emerged once more as the Frenchman decided to bring back Francis Coquelin from Charlton. After spending little over a month on loan, the 23 year old returned to the Emirates to solidify the midfield in every way possible. Not only that he became Arsenal’s number one solution but he also made club legends like Martin Kewon praise Wenger for his choices in terms of selecting players. The former England international who spent over a decade playing in the red and white shirt, recently pointed out that Coquelin is exactly what the Gunners need to be more aggressive and a lot more confident defensive wise.

According to Squawka, the newly found maturity brought back from Charlton by the young midfielder is not only impressive to watch but is also smashing the statistics. Currently he is Arsenal’s most efficient midfielder when it comes to defensive duties, managing to keep his stats positive throughout the 14 league matches he has featured in. Coquelin’s performances seem to have been noticed by all those who are watching Arsenal push for the Premier League title. His almost impeccable passing and his way of dominating his adversaries got him a new contract which should keep him in London until 2019.

The Frenchman is expected to improve with each game and become the go to guy for next season. It appears that Wenger knew what he was doing when avoiding splash money around on players like Khedira who despite their vast experience, would have probably ended up spending a bunch of time on the bench watching the in-form and undeniably improving Coquelin play.

It just goes to show yet again that Arsene Wenger knows what he is doing and just like he developed Alex Song using a loan at Charlton amongst other things, the same trick seems to have worked for young Coquelin who enjoyed his spell at the Valley and has come back as the player Arsenal need and is now looking ready to deliver in the first team on a regular basis.
