Wenger Shows Faith In Sanogo

Arsene Wenger has shown faith in the qualities of Yaya Sanogo in the senior squad, and has hinted that the youngster’s presence in the squad and other available alternatives mean Arsenal do not need to sign another striker in the remaining period of the transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners were short of striking prowess in their latest Barclays Premier League encounter against Everton, where the Londoners fell behind by two goals in the first half. It was once again Aaron Ramsey who rescued the squad from shame, and brought back the visitors within touching distance of a draw. And it was Olivier Giroud on the stroke of the 90th minute who equalised to win a point back for the visitors. The recent performances raise the question, does Arsenal need an additional striker? Critics have felt that the club needed a senior striker alongside Giroud to lead the frontline. However, Wenger has suggested that the likes of Sanogo is the future of the club, and that he has a lot of faith in the qualities of the youngster, despite his age and inexperience. Sanogo has been appearing in several key games for the club over the past season, and the manager plans to include him furthermore in the ongoing campaign.


Wenger is also excited about Joel Campbell’s start in the senior squad, and of course the much awaited return of Theo Walcott from long term injury.
