Wenger: Oxlade-Chamberlain Could Miss Liverpool Game

Arsene Wenger has expressed his concerns over the fitness of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the tie against Liverpool at Anfield, after the England international suffered a groin injury in the club’s win against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium last week, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners have an important game against Liverpool on Sunday, and they will have to be at their best to beat the Merseyside club. Wenger has the existing long term casualties like Jack Wilshere out for the foreseeable future, and will be hoping for an injury free week in training. Arsenal started off the season poorly, and the supporters began questioning Wenger’s ability to make tactical switches for the better of the team. Some supporters were very vocal about their opinions and also took to verbal abuse to the manager during the recent visit to Stoke City. However, the French manager has managed to pull the strings and put points on the board after the poor run, and Arsenal are just two points off the last Champions League qualification spot.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has formed a crucial part of the first team this season, and has been a consistent contributor to the side. The attacker has improved himself during attacking plays, and Wenger has managed to improve his overall gameplay from his early days at Southampton. Arsenal will only know whether the 21-year old can play against Liverpool on Saturday.
