The former Arsenal playmaker had been in regular touch with his former boss since he departed for Barcelona in 2011. However, their relationship has turned sour ever since Wenger rejected the chance to re-sign Fabregas, who chose to join Chelsea after deciding it was time to leave Barcelona.

Fabregas, who joined Arsenal at the tender age of 11, had previously stated he will never play for Chelsea but is putting in some impressive displays for the Blues as they sit atop the Premier League table with 13 points after five rounds.

The Spaniard was also confident that time will heal his relationship with Wenger after revealing that the Frenchman hasn’t been in touch recently, according to Metro.

He said, “No, he hasn’t spoken to me since I came back. It was the kind of relationship I always would have liked to keep. But I’m sure once everything dies down a bit in the future we will talk. There is no problem. I’ll always be grateful to him whatever happens.”

He added, “On his birthdays, for his 1,000th game, he always had a text message from me. But I don’t expect anything from anyone in life, positive or negative. I understand his decision and, now I’m at Chelsea, I’ll do everything to make this club win.”
