Wenger looking to bring two new defenders next to Paulista

Arsenal have secured the services of Gabriel Paulista who was officially presented on the club’s website. Wenger will not stop here though and will push to sign at least one new central defender. According to Metro, Adil Rami and Joao Pereira are the next in line to start negotiations with the Gunners. Milan’s player looks like the second option for the North Londoners who have set their targets on Valencia’s right back who will be a lot easier to sign. He will be ending his contract this summer and there is a big chance the Spanish side will try to sell him despite his option to extend his stay for one more year. Since moving to Valencia, the former Portugal international has dropped in quality. Even if injuries were not an issue, he has still lost his pace. He would make a great occasional replacement for Debuchy and Chambers.

Adil Rami is one year younger, and is under contract with Milan until 2017. The center-back who also played for Valencia, is relatively new to Serie A after just moving to Milano back in July 2014. Wenger will have a lot of work to do if he wants the Frenchman who looks able to become a team regular everywhere he goes. He is pretty experienced and has the offensive qualities to help Arsenal’s attack. He will cost the Gunners about the same amount of money Paulista cost.
