Wenger Eyes January Move For Malaga Defender

The Gunners are very light in their defence with only two fit centre-backs at the moment. Calum Chambers was brought in to add cover to the pairing of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker but, due to Mathieu Debuchy’s long-term injury, he is first-choice at right-back for now.

There are also defensive concerns at left-back owing to the injury woes of Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal. Wenger is keen to strengthen his defence and is eyeing a cut-price move for Malaga’s Vitorino Antunes, according to the Mirror.

The report states that the 28-year-old will be available for as little as £2.5 million in January. Malaga are reportedly open to offers for the Portuguese and Antunes could be a decent back-up option for Wenger.
