Walcott Chasing 10 Goal Milestone Before Christmas

Theo Walcott seems to have reached top form and it`s all thanks to Wenger and not surprisingly to Alexis Sanchez who from his first days at Emirates inspired other players to push twice as hard. This is the case for the England international who is having a great season with 9 goals scored up until now. Apparently, the winger plans to score at least one more goal before Christmas which is more than achievable given the fact that Arsenal have 6 games left until the 25th of December.

“I want to get 10 so I can get a coffee machine for Christmas from my wife. She said ‘if you get 10 goals before Christmas I’ll buy you this coffee machine’. So I can’t wait for that and hopefully it will happen. Coming from the wing as well, I’m obviously delighted with my goals so far. But I’m more delighted where the team is, progressing from the first disappointing game.” said Walcott as reported by the Guardian.

Jokes aside, it`s good to see Walcott finally setting goals he can reach and focusing on them and them alone. It`s more than satisfying to have the England international on the right track. People need to think into the future as well. If the 27-year-old new father keeps it up he will be unstoppable next year. Wenger has helped with Walcott’s focus as stated after his goal against Bournemouth:

“I sat down with the manager at the start of the season and said where I want to play so now I don’t have to think about anything else.”

“And with that experience in the central position, if I find myself there hopefully I can tuck away the goals, which I have. I’m still working hard in training, in the gym and on the mental side of it. And making sure I have time at home as well. “

“Everything seems to be clicking. I just want to make sure I’m the best I can be every day going into training. If I can stay fit hopefully it can be a good season, not just for me but for everyone else.”

All Walcott needs to do now is stay away from injury while still pushing himself to the limit. Hopefully his injury past is behind him now and there are only good things to come from the man who in February will be celebrating 10 years since scoring his first goal for Arsenal against Chelsea in the EFL Cup final.
