Valencia Enter Chase For Arsenal Target Ospina!

David Ospina was sounded out by Wenger as being the one to replace Lukasz Fabianski and provide stiff competition to current number one goalie Wojciech Szczesny.

A deal of £3.2 million was reportedly agreed with French club Nice for Ospina’s services. However, a move to bring the shot-stopper to the Emirates is yet to materialise and other clubs have entered the chase for his services.

Valencia are planning to hijack Arsenal’s bid for the 25-year-old and even an unnamed Mexico club are eyeing a deal, according to Metro.

It is not surprising to learn other clubs have joined the race for Ospina after the goalkeeper produced some excellent performances at the World Cup for Colombia. He kept two clean sheets at the World Cup and helped Colombia reach the quarter final stage where they lost 2-1 to hosts Brazil.

Do you think Arsene Wenger can convince David Ospina to join Arsenal over some of the other clubs despite only being able to realistically offer a back-up role?
