Should Wenger Consider Arsenal Legends’ Transfer Suggestions?

The two Arsenal legends who combined have scored more than 300 times for the Gunners are encouraging Wenger to start spending big as the Londoners lack a few key elements in their squad. Even though the two strikers have not expressed their opinion simultaneously, the outcome seems the same. Henry suggested four transfers and Wright suggested three, both players pointing out the fact that Arsenal need a stronger central axis to hold the team throughout an entire Premier League season. What is even more interesting is that Wright and Henry had similar tastes in strikers and keepers.

For the keeper position Cech looks like the favorite. Even though Arsenal just received a blow after Real expressed their interest in Chelsea’s stopper, he should still be one of the transfers Wenger should insist upon making. Ospina is good but he is not in the same league with Cech who is one of the greats right there next to Buffon and Neuer.

When it comes to scoring goals, Cavani is a top pick. The Uruguayan is having a great season with PSG and when given the chance, manages to impress. According to reports in the Daily Express, having the striker at the Emirates would massively increase the chances to win the Premier League and compete for Champions League glory.

Arsenal also need someone to strengthen the defense. It could be a defensive midfielder or a central defender. Signing a center-back would be the smarter choice though as Coquelin seems to have settled in nicely. Ian Wright suggested Varane who is a very promising player but is also looking like he is inching closer to a move to Chelsea each day.

We all know that Wenger is a man of his convictions so it will be interesting to see if he makes a move for any of the targets his former players have suggested.
