Should Arsenal Sign A New Striker?

Arsenal have a great chance to sign one of the best strikers in Europe as Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette admits he is no longer in tune with the club’s management. Seen as a top target for teams like Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United and more, the Frenchman looked like the player with the biggest chances to leave Ligue 1 at the end of the summer. Unfortunately for him he apparently made some wrong choices, and even if he is now Lyon’s highest paid player, he is nowhere nearly as efficient as last year.

According to TalkSport, Lacazette said that “It hurt. I think that is a justified word to use. When you are a youngster at the club, in the town, and you have never really behaved in a nasty way to anyone, to be treated like that, yes, it hurts. I had had my best ever season, I really helped the team to reach the Champions League again.” The 24-year-old was clearly affected and stated that his lack of form is mainly due to the poor relationship with the club. Arsenal could take advantage of this situation, but is that really necessary?

Lacazette is mainly a second striker or a winger just like Sanchez or Walcott. He did have an amazing season managing to score 27 times but it will be hard to do the same in the Premier League where he will no longer have the entire team working in his favor. Wenger might be better off focusing on Walcott and new ways to help him score more or after the Champions League performances so far this season focusing on getting the entire team playing defensively better might be the best use of time. The money that could be spent on Lacazette would probably be better spent on one or two defenders and a left winger.
