Sanogo Taunts Fabregas Inadvertently

Yaya Sanogo taunted Cesc Fabregas through the medium of social networking site Twitter, after the Spaniard was voted man of the match in Chelsea’s opening game of the season against Burnley last Monday night.

Fabregas began his career as a youth player at Barcelona, but did not see potential of a first team spot at the Spanish club. Arsenal signed Fabregas in 2003 as a youth academy player, but Arsene Wenger immediately instated the midfielder in a first team role where he could improve his game with the then ‘invincibles’ squad. As the experienced players retired one after the other, Fabregas slowly established his place in the starting lineup and became the primary playmaker for Wenger. Into his 8th season for the club, Barcelona approached the player and Fabregas decided to leave the Emirates Stadium for Camp Nou.

Sanogo started his football at Auxerre where he represented the ‘B’side before he signed a contract with the senior team in 2010. After representing the club for 21 occasions and scoring 11 goals, Arsenal signed the youngster in 2013, and Sanogo has been playing erratically in the first team. The 21-year old has also represented France at all youth levels, and will look to further progress his career with the national side.

Fabregas’ tweet years ago about his loyalty to the Gunners came back to bite him, and Sanogo inadvertently took a dig at the current Chelsea player over it when he chose to retweet Fabregas’ famous, “Once a gunner, always a gunner. Have a good day guys.” tweet last Tuesday after Chelsea had beaten Burnley the night before.
