The marquee signing officially begins life with the Gunners from Monday but is set for a lonely start with the 2014 FA Cup winners. Due to visa issues, he will not be allowed to link up with his new teammates in Austria and will continue to develop his fitness with the club’s fitness coaches at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners arrived back from their four-day trip to the US and will go out to Austria to continue their pre-season training. The former Barcelona striker may feature for the Gunners only on Saturday when they take on Benfica in the Emirates Cup.

Wenger has confirmed that Sanchez will be staying put in London due to visa issues. According to Daily Mail, he said, “I don’t think Sanchez will come to Austria because he has to go to Paris to get a visa, so he will only go so he will work in London.”
