Despite being constantly linked to Arsenal, Balotelli will not leave Milano according to the Daily Mail. The 23 year old is not being given the opportunity to move mostly because of the massive drop in his market value. After a poor World Cup performance, the striker is now 4 times less valuable than he was before leaving for Brazil. Galliani even went as far as to tell the press that if not for Italy’s poor overall performance, Balotelli would have ended up in the Premier League for £40million.

Arsenal were hot on the Italian’s trail even with his subpar performance. He seemed like the perfect solution to both join and replace Giroud in any given situation. Even with his difficult personality, Wenger seemed keen on giving Balotelli a chance. Unfortunately, in an attempt to probably win back the money spent on Balotelli, Galliani decided to keep the Italian international for at least one more season in which he might return to his previous form.

There is still some hope when it comes to Balotelli’s transfer if you consider the fact that Galliani had the same speech before letting Kaka go. Milan’s CEO insisted that there is a 0.01% chance that the 23 year old forward will leave Milano right after news about a possible swap between Balotelli and Campbell made it to the internet. It may just be a method to boost the Italian striker’s price which has reached an all-time low and is now half of what Milan paid when signing him from Manchester City.
