The 19-year-old, Adrien Rabiot just has a year remaining on his current contract and is a target for both Arsenal and Roma. He was widely expected to leave the reigning Ligue 1 champions in the summer transfer window but a move away from the French capital failed to materialize.

Rabiot is now expected to depart in January with PSG ready to cash in on the France youth international rather than risk losing him for free next summer. Roma’s sporting director has moved ahead of Arsenal by confirming his desire to bring Rabiot to the Serie A, according to the Standard.

He said, “He is an exceptional player. We like him very much. He is a player that we would like and we will discuss him properly, we will not wait to sign him on a free transfer.”

“If we have the privilege and the desire to negotiate for Rabiot, we will do so in agreement with Paris Saint-Germain. But I believe it will be difficult, as his contract situation is unknown. We will try to work on this as something between clubs of great prestige.”
