Ramsey Calls For Calm Among Media

Aaron Ramsey has called for Arsenal’s critiques to wait until 10 games into the season before writing them off as Premier League challengers. The Welshman has insisted that his side are well in the title race, and despite a slow start, Arsenal will come good by May.

Arsenal have won two games out of four so far this season, but both victories were relatively nervy – especially their 1-0 win over Newcastle, despite the Magpies playing with just 10 men for most of the game.

But Ramsey has asked for the media to wait for the season to push on before judging the Gunners.

“My view on it (the criticism) is look at the table after 10 games and let’s see where we are then.” said Ramsey.

“Hopefully that upset at the beginning of the season (2-0 defeat at home to West Ham) will be our only one. If we go on a winning run now, and win our next five or six games, we will be there or thereabouts again.”

“We don’t take too much notice of the criticism. We know what we are capable of doing. We know the players we have and it is just important for us to concentrate on that.”

“We have a lot of quality in this squad at the moment and a lot of competition for places as well. I am confident that this squad can go and challenge for the title, this season and for many years to come.”

When Wenger was asked about potential incoming players, the Frenchman remained insistent on not revealing anything.

“We still do not have Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere available — and they are real players.” said Wenger.
