Podolski Set To Join Juventus On What Could Become A Permanent Deal

Lukas Podolski is looking to move to either Italy or Germany after failing to become a team regular at the Emirates. The 29 year old who has spent two years in London so far, could join Juventus or Wolfsburg during the next few days. According to the Telegraph, the World Cup winner is not that happy with his current situation and would like to join a club which offers him more chances. The Emirates is clearly not going to provide what the German needs as Wenger seems keen to use Cazorla. The Frenchman is also looking to sign one more attacking player with a similar profile to that of Sanchez. This will lower Podolski’s chances of becoming a team regular considerably.

Despite scoring 28 goals in almost 70 appearances, Podolski hasn’t found his spot on the team. He was used as a winger, a second striker or a striker but has never really settled in many would argue. Arsenal will be interested in selling him rather than loaning him to Juventus, but the Italians don’t look keen on making a long term deal just yet. This might be a problem considering the transfer period is quickly coming to an end. Both sides look determined to hold their own which means it is going to be hard to reach an agreement. If the deal fails, Podolski might become leverage for a possible deal with Wolfsburg. The German side are expected to receive an offer from Arsenal which will target Luiz Gustavo Dias who is seen as an excellent replacement for Arteta who is out with injury.
