Ospina Too Good To Be Sidelined

It is a pity that Ospina is caught up in the entire Cech deal and has little control over what is going to happen. He is now waiting to see if Chelsea agree to terms so he can decide if a move to Fenerbahce is actually a solution. Unfortunately for him Cech is seen as a better choice for Arsenal’s goal despite the Colombian’s impressive performances in the Copa America. The 26 year old who has been linked to a move to Turkey needs to postpone negotiations especially now that Cech’s trainer publicly declared that no contact was made between Arsenal and his number 1 trainee.

According to Squawka, Ospina will not stay knowing that transferring Cech means competition will only be carried for who is playing in the FA Cup of other competitions that are not as important for the Gunners as the Champions League and the Premier league. The Colombian is basically going to end up in the same situation as Cech at Chelsea. Even though he is a great keeper, an even better keeper will come along and steal the show. It is a bit unlucky for him though if Cech’s transfer does go through. With one more year in the Premier League, chances are he could have improved a lot. Not sure what will happen and if Ospina is indeed less reliable than Cech. The 33 year old Cech hasn’t played regularly for a while now which might have put him off his game. Also, the Colombian’s performance against Argentina was amazing and will probably stick with a lot of people. Few performances by Cech have stayed with fans. Of course, that does not necessarily win trophies but it sure makes the game a lot more interesting. See some of Ospina’s saves in the video below.
