Marseille Fail To Sign Gignac

Even though rumors that Arsenal have no chance of signing Andre Pierre Gignac were all over the news and there were reports stating that Marseille will secure the French striker for 3 new seasons, it seems that The Gunners might get a second chance. The 28 year old who scored 10 times this season, has yet to agree to a new deal with his team. Marseille’s management is afraid that they will not be able to keep meeting Gignac’s financial expectations which are very high for the club. According to the Mirror, this could represent a great chance for Arsenal who were looking to bring in a 4th striker just to make sure the current situation does not repeat itself. Wenger is now having to improvise due to the injury streak which has hit the team.

Marseille publicly admitted to having trouble with the tax system in France. With the new rules having to be met by all Ligue 1 teams, Marseille will have to either sell Gignac or cut his salary which is not an option for the 28 year old. With Wenger being a fan of Gignac for quite a while now, it is very likely to see Arsenal make an offer for the French international.

Valued at about £6million, he might be a viable solution to replace Podolski who seems keen on leaving due to the fact that he is not getting enough on pitch time. Gignac can play as a left winger as well as a center forward which might be exactly what Arsenal need in case of an emergency.
