Man City Eye Ozil Swoop!

Man City Eye Ozil Swoop!

Ozil joined the Gunners on transfer deadline day in August 2013 in a club record deal worth £42.4 million, but he has so far failed to live up to his high expectations. The German has been criticised of disappearing in big games and he has not been able to recapture his superlative form of his Real Madrid days.

The 26-year-old has been linked with Manchester City in the last few days and Metro is reporting that Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini has ‘ordered’ the club to sign Ozil as a direct replacement for Yaya Toure.

Toure has had a poor start to the season by his lofty standards and his attitude has been questioned in recent weeks. He will be off to Africa to play for Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations in January and Pellegrini wants to bring in a replacement.

The Chilean is reportedly interested in Ozil despite his inconsistent form for the Gunners and the report suggests that Ozil will cost City £32 million.

Do you think Arsenal should sell another of its big players to one of its direct title rivals?
