Liverpool Win Battle To Sign Striker Origi

Striker, Divock Origi shined for Beligum in this summer’s World Cup in Brazil despite being just 19 years of age. Origi featured in all of Belgium’s matches and scored a goal at the finals as Belgium crashed out in the quarter final stage courtesy of a 1-0 win by Argentina.

His impressive performances caught the attention of some top European clubs and there was a mad scramble for his signature. However, the project of Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool has convinced Origi to sign for the Reds ahead of Arsenal and other clubs, according to the Mirror.

The Lille striker is set to seal a £12.5 million move to Liverpool and be immediately sent back to Lille on a season-long loan. The striker’s father had reportedly flown to the USA, where Liverpool are undergoing pre-season training, to conclude the deal.
