Arsene Wenger wants to add some bite to his midfield and had targeted a move for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira. The World Cup winner is reportedly ready for a fresh challenge and has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

However, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that neither Khedira nor Angel Di Maria, who has been linked with a big money move to Manchester United, will be leaving the Bernabeu this summer.

He said, “They are Real Madrid players. They didn’t play in the Super Cup because they joined the group on August 5th. Today’s match will be important to give them some playing time. The transfer market is over and we won’t re-open it,” according to a report in the Daily Star.

Wenger is reportedly turning his attention closer to home and he has targeted a move for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who is also being chased by Tottenham Hotspur but as the Saints have said repeatedly the French midfielder is not for sale no matter what happens so the search must continue for Wenger it seems.
