Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were the biggest investments in the club’s history. Apparently they paid off as Arsenal ended their trophy drought and have also become once again the team everyone wants to see playing. They are without a doubt, leaving out this season’s revelation Leicester, the team with the most breathtaking football, even though if that feeling sometimes comes from a dramatic loss. Sanchez and Ozil brought determination and class to the pitch. The Gunners are very close to the team that had Pires and Henry playing together. They are probably one or two seasons away from becoming “The Invincibles”. The good news is that if all goes well, we will get to see how the team will look in two years with Sanchez and Ozil on the same side. According to Squawka, both are seeking contract renewals which will keep them at Emirates until 2020.

Even if Arsenal and Wenger in particular are extremely calculated when it comes to spending money, increasing the two players’ salaries is something that should happen and will happen. Apparently both are willing to extend their stays for a salary of £160,000-a-week which is half of what Rooney makes now at Manchester United.

Looking at the numbers, these two could be worth even more. In 18 months Sanchez scored 35 goals and provided 19 assists for Arsenal. Ozil scored 18 times and provided 39 assists, half of those just this season. If they manage to stay away from injury for an entire season and if they get at least one or two star-quality players to complete the lot, the Gunners will without a doubt win the Premier League. They will do so in style as it is a pleasure to see Sanchez and Ozil perform as at times they seem to be telepathic. Not only will Arsenal be favorites for the domestic competitions but they will also have fans hoping to see their team compete for the Champions League trophy. This is apparently one of the reasons for which Sanchez is so happy in North London. Knowing he is part of such a promising lot is making him even more determined.
