Juve Set To Hijack Arsenal’s Move For Man City Defender!

Matija Nastasic is currently fifth-choice at the Etihad Stadium and manager Manuel Pellegrini has told the Serbian that he is not featured in his plans. He said, “Matija needs to play. We already have four centre-backs, Demichelis, Kompany, Mangala and Boyata, as well as four full-backs.”

“So we will see in the next few days what happens with Nastasic. He is an important player, but he has offers and I think the best thing for him is to play. We will see what happens, but we have until the end of August to see what kind of offers we get for Matija.”

The offers he has are reportedly from Arsenal amongst others but it seems that Juventus have also approached City for the 21-year-old. The former Fiorentina centre-back is a target for the Old Lady who want to bring him back to Serie A, according to the Express.

Arsenal have lost club captain Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona and Wenger is actively looking for replacements before the transfer window closes on September 1st. Nastasic would represent a very able replacement but it seems Juve have moved ahead of the Gunners with City also not keen on selling to a title rival.
