Jenkinson Agrees West Ham Switch

Arsenal youngster Carl Jenkinson looks set to switch clubs for next season, as the full back is in talks with several Barclays Premier League clubs over a loan move, with West Ham United about to complete getting the player’s signature on a season long loan, according to talkSPORT.

As all the top clubs in the Premier League sign players to strengthen their squad, the younger players at these clubs move further down in the pecking order. With clubs like Liverpool investing heavily in talent, other title contenders look to match their spending and building an equally strong squad. However, this means some of the players who have been climbing up the ranks through the academy do not find a place in the 25-man squad each club has to be submitted to the Premier League before the start of the campaign.

Jenkinson has been consistent in his performances for the Gunners whenever called upon by Arsene Wenger, but the youngster had to play second fiddle to Bacary Sagna, who established a permanent spot in the first team. Sagna’s departure to champions Manchester City would have been good news for Jenkinson, until the club signed France international Mathieu Debuchy, who will most certainly demand immediate first team action given his quality down the flanks.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has revealed that Jenkinson prefers to stay in London, and he would settle for a move to Upton Park on a season long loan.
