Jamie Redknapp Doubts Wilshere Has Arsenal Future

Speaking ahead of the Live match on Sky Sports last Saturday, pundit and former Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp had some pretty disparaging comments about the future of Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere currently with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth on a season long loan. Redknapp has major reservations on the chances of famed Arsenal academy product Wilshere managing to return to the Emirates and the Sky pundit had this to say about it,

“I don’t see a future [for Wilshere] at Arsenal any more. I think now he’ll realise he has to get away from Arsenal.

“It’s too comfortable for him there. He is not going to get into the team at Arsenal.”

Wilshere for his part is doing his best at Bournemouth to get the game time he so desperately needs after too many injury ravaged seasons. Against Tottenham in the tightly contested 0-0 stalemate with Bournemouth on Saturday on Sky Sports, Wilshere finished out his very first 90-minute Premier League appearance, shockingly in over two years. So the young midfielder is getting game time with Eddie Howe who appreciates the talents of the England midfielder so there is no reason why he cannot return to Arsenal after hopefully playing the season with the Cherries and regaining his match sharpness and being ready to really contest for a place in the Gunners team.

As Goal.com reported Wilshere hit back at the pundit and does not give much weight to Redknapp’s point of view saying in response,

“I don’t know where he got that from,”

“I’m just trying to get back to what I was, enjoying my football and playing week-in, week-out and today was a massive step towards that.

“I’ve not really thought about that so how other people can comment on it…

“If he doesn’t see me going back to Arsenal then that’s up to him. He’s entitled to his opinion but I haven’t thought about that.”

So Wilshere may have his doubters but there is no denying his supreme talent and if he can get past his bad run of injuries as other players have in the past the sky is the limit for the young Gunner as Arsene Wenger is definitely still a believer in his talents.
