Is Wenger Failing To Attract Young Talent To The Emirates?

Apparently, not signing Julian Draxler during the winter transfer period may have been a huge mistake. According to the Daily Express, Wenger will no longer be able to convince the German international to move to London. The youngster’s agent insisted that the 20 year old will remain with Schalke even after the ending of this season.

Roger Wittman who seems to be pretty close to the German side, also insisted that Draxler will not leave the Bundesliga for the next couple of seasons. He pointed out that Schalke have just started building a new team and that Draxler has no reason to leave such a promising group.

The German international who has been playing for Schalke since 2011, has had a somewhat poor season up to now. With only a few matches left, he has only managed to score once in the Bundesliga despite making 23 appearances.

Some of the pressure might have built up since last year when he was looking as one of the most promising young players in Europe. With rumors regarding his possible transfer to both Arsenal and Bayern might have scared Draxler a bit who is no longer looking as confident as last year. Even so he would make a great addition to the team, as the Gunners prepare for some massive squad changes during the summer. Frankly, any transfer will be well-received at the Emirates if you consider how many squad-related problems Arsenal have had to deal with this season.
