Injury Crisis Hitting Arsenal Hard As Welbeck And Rosicky Join The Sick Bay

Just when Arsenal received some good news regarding Giroud’s recovery, Welbeck seems to have picked up an ankle injury. The England international who was expected to play next to Giroud earlier than expected, might actually be replaced by the Frenchman. Hopefully Welbeck’s ankle was not that badly hurt during the game against Estonia. According to the Daily Mail, currently Arsenal have an entire team of stars who are out because of injury. Even with Giroud’s fast recovery, things are still far from being OK with the Gunners. If Welbeck’s injury proves to be more than just an average sprain, Wenger could say that he is one of the unluckiest managers on the planet.

Since the season began, Arsenal have lost Ozil, Ramsey, Giroud, Debuchy, Sanogo, Koscielny, Arteta, Rosicky and Ospina. Add to that the fact that Walcott has been out for many months and you get the most extensive injury list in Europe. If Welbeck will be out for the next few games, Arsenal will have an incredibly hard time putting together a strong line-up. What is even more disturbing is the fact that the Gunners have played so little together during the past year that the team chemistry has suffered at times as the new players are trying to adjust to their new team-mates and vice-versa but just as they are developing some kind of an understanding one or the other is injured setting back the process each time.

It is going to be incredibly hard for Arsenal to make something of this season if they keep losing players. Even if a significant part of the squad recover miraculously quickly, they will still need time to get back into the swing of games. Continuity is missing completely with Arsenal, and that is why according to most, this season they will continue to have a hard time when facing top competition when they need to be at their best to have a chance and with this incredible streak of bad luck with injuries leaves them at best limited options in many positions on the field which at best will limit their challenge on the trophy front and at worst could derail it completely.
