Gnabry On The Cusp Of Loan Move?

As Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Southampton full back Calum Chambers on a £16 million deal, it could mean youngster Serge Gnabry making the switch to St. Mary’s on a loan deal, according to Metro.

The race for the Barclays Premier League title has begun even before the start of the season, and all the top clubs are eying the best talent available for the best prices. Despite signing Mesut Ozil for a club record £42.5 million, Arsenal have disappointed fans in bringing star players to the club over the past few years. However, the London based club have given their fans a pleasant surprise this summer by beginning their spree of signings early on in the window. On an attacking front, Arsene Wenger was pleased to present Alexis Sanchez, with Mathieu Debuchy and David Ospina as defensive arrivals.

The club have agreed a deal with Southampton for Chambers, who had been scouted by several top clubs in the league. The details of the deal will be revealed in due course, and reports suggest Gnabry could be joining the Saints on a year-long loan deal presumably to help fill the void left by Chambers and the numerous other players going to Liverpool.

Gnabry began his career at Stuttgart as a youth player but was signed by Arsenal, who have nurtured his talent further. The 19-year old could benefit from the loan deal, if announced, as have other Arsenal players in the past.
