Giroud Keen On Welbeck Partnership

Olivier Giroud has expressed his excitement at the prospect of linking up with Danny Welbeck in the Arsenal attack line, as the striker is ready to return to the first team after an injury that saw him out for the first few months of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal suffered another heavy setback in their Barclays Premier League campaign as they lost to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium. The side looked bright at the start of the game, and neither side looked like breaking the deadlock, but for an unfortunate own goal by Kieran Gibbs that gave United the lead in the second half. Arsene Wenger brought on Giroud to try and draw level in the remainder of the game, but the side fell short of numbers at the back and United scored again courtesy Wayne Rooney on the counter. The manager had another concern in the game, as Jack Wilshere limped off the pitch injured in what seemed to be a knock to his left leg.

Welbeck has been impressive in his time at Arsenal so far, and will now have Giroud as an additional striking partner to help him up front. The Frenchman was unfortunate to have been out through injury, but will now provide Wenger with another combination in attack. Alexis Sanchez continues to perform well, but will need to contribute more goals but it was still great to see Giroud mark his comeback with a superb strike in injury time which gave the Gunners some hope of rescuing a point.
