Gazidis Gives Classy Response To Mourinho Rant

There were some statements going back and forth after Arsenal’s draw against Chelsea. Criticism levels were high as many Gooners lashed out at Mourinho’s approach and called the Blues boring. The Special One responded in his own style and called Arsenal boring for not claiming any titles in almost a decade. Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis backed up the North Londoners and recently told the press that trophies are not everything and that Arsenal has a different philosophy regarding football. According to the BBC, Gazidiz values character and entertainment as much as winning the Champions League. Even though he did not refer directly to what Mourinho had to say, his timing was spot on.

To be fair, despite missing out on a lot of chances over the past year, Arsenal have never been boring. Recent games have shown how brilliant the Gunners are under Wenger and how much potential can be found among young players promoted by the Frenchman. Arsenal may have hit a rut over the past few years but are coming back in style with two trophies already accounted for. The FA Cup is probably going to stay at the Emirates and with a few top notch transfers, the Champions League and the Premier League title do not look too far away.

Even though some can’t see it, there is brilliance behind Arsenal. They sacrificed a lot over the past few years but they managed to build and pay for a new stadium, maintain and improve a spectacular youth academy and build up the budget to start signing £30m+ players – not bad you would have to say and many clubs would love to be able to say the same.
