Galatasaray Shows Interest In Lukas Podolski

Galatasaray are preparing a bid for Arsenal want-away star Lukas Podolski who has been out of contention for a spot in the starting eleven in his time at the club, and the striker could hence consider leaving the London based outfit for the Turkish giants, according to talkSPORT.

Arsene Wenger has been working tirelessly to ensure the club have a consistent supply of goals through the strike force despite heavy injuries and key players like Robin van Persie leaving the club. Danny Welbeck has come into the club from Manchester United and settled well, leaving no place for Podolski, never mind younger players like Joel Campbell.

Podolski joined the club in 2012 from FC Koln, but has been a bit-part player for Wenger, making an impression as an impact player off the bench as he did to great effect last night when he notched the winner vs Anderlecht in the Champions League – saving Arsenal’s blushes. The 29-year old’s lethal left foot has been an asset for the German national team, and his partnership with Miroslav Klose in the heart of the attack will be remembered by many, after the latter retired from international football this year. Arsenal have already added Alexis Sanchez to their armoury and Theo Walcott’s return from long term injury will again likely keep the German out of the starting eleven. Podolski has been linked with a move to several European clubs including Juventus and now Galatasaray, but the January window will reveal where the striker signs a contract but it seems crazy to let hiom leave when he clearly has so much to offer if only he was given the opportunity and a decent run of games in the first team.
