Frustrated Podolski Gets A Full Game And Bangs In A Double

The frustration which has built up because of Arsenal’s awful couple of weeks is starting to show as Lukas Podolski publicly expressed his disappointment with the way Wenger treats him.

According to Metro, the German international, speaking ahead of the Tuesday night game vs West Ham, is dissatisfied with not being played for the entire length of the game. Even if the forward was injured for a big part of the season, he considers he is more than capable of performing at the highest level for the whole 90 minutes. Naturally after venting his frustration Podolski started vs West Ham, played all 90 minutes and banged in 2 excellent goals on the night in the Gunners’ 3-1 win.

Despite making it to the FA Cup final, Arsenal are not in the best shape of the season. They are in a dog-fight for their Champions League spot with Everton and are are now a point ahead of the Merseysiders but have played a game more. It would be a disaster for Wenger who spent most of this season on top of the Premier League standings, if he does not finish in the top 4. Unfortunately the thin squad and constant injuries have taken their toll on Arsenal.

Podolski also spoke about Arsenal’s chance to end their trophy drought and the Gunners will need more of the same from the German hit-man if they are to qualify for the Champions League and fulfil their position as clear favorites to win the FA Cup.
