Could Sanchez Be The Next Thierry Henry For Arsenal?

Alexis Sanchez scored a brace to down Sunderland 2-0 last weekend to take his tally to an impressive 5 goals in just 8 league appearances. It is never easy for a foreign striker to quickly settle in the Premier League (just ask Mario Balotelli!) but Sanchez has found his feet in no time.

He is one of the bright sparks in an otherwise poor start to the season for Arsene Wenger’s side. His impressive start has led Flamini to compare him with Henry, who scored a club record 228 goals for the north London side.

Flamini claims that Sanchez is as good as Henry and van Persie, according to the Daily Mail. He said, “From what we have seen so far of him, he is right up there [with Henry and Van Persie]. He is proving it in every game he plays, not just with his goals but the way he works for the team.”

“He is a breath of fresh air to play with. He gives so much for the team and not just in an attacking sense. I didn’t realise he works so hard off the ball. Not just creating space for others but helping out defensively. He is a top player and has already made a big difference.”

“Normally a player with his talent and goals would be satisfied with that but he gives more with his work-rate. When you see someone like him working so hard, it sets an example for all of us to follow.”

So Sanchez is proving to be an asset on the field of play, on the training pitch and in the dressing room showing that we did very well signing him from under Liverpool’s noses and look who the Merseysiders signed – Mario Balotelli and despite the Italian’s obvious talents there is not question which player has settled faster with his new tean and already delivered on the field.
