Could Gnabry’s Move Mean An Incoming New Player For Arsenal?

German forward, Serge Gnabry who has also featured as a right-back on some occasions, will be looking to get more on pitch time. With Walcott set to return at the end of the month and with Sanchez freshly arrived, Gnabry will have a tough time playing in his regular position you would think. Add to that the fact that Wenger also signed Debuchy who will become his first choice at right back and you will see the idea of Gnabry as part of the starting line-up looking pretty unlikely.

The 19 year old who had a great debut, is still lacking in maturity which will be gained by performing on a regular basis. By sending him to either Newcastle or Southampton, Wenger will allow the German winger to grow and develop into a viable option for the Gunners’ first team.

Gnabry is set to make a move at the end of the summer. One thing is for sure though, he will be performing in the Premier League. It is obvious that Wenger has great trust in the U19 German international who is one of Arsenal’s most promising players. Even so it is very likely that he will spend at least two years away from Emirates considering that Walcott, Sanchez or to a lesser extent Debuchy will be very hard to dislodge from the team yet alone the squad. Even if Gnabry can also perform as a right-back, he is best used up front especially because of his great speed and excellent skill. According to the Daily Mail, the deal will probably be completed with Newcastle who just allowed Debuchy to join the Gunners but Southampton do remain an option and Wenger may prefer the young German to be playing with the the Saints and their attractive high-tempo style of play.

If Serge Gnabry does go out on loan it now seems unlikely that he will join Southampton with the recent revelation that possible Arsenal target Dejan Lovren is set to join Liverpool.
