Arsenal will probably be bidding farewell (temporarily) to 19 year old wonder kid Chuba Akpom who is set to join Norwich City on a loan deal expected to be sealed before the end of March. According to Metro, the Gunner is keen on moving to a smaller team in order to play on a regular basis. With the Canaries trying desperately to return to the Premier League after spending one season in the Championship, it might be a great chance for the striker to really prove himself. Even though before signing a contract extension, Akpom was promised he will be fighting for a spot in Wenger’s starting eleven until the end of the season, he will likely still want to leave.

With Giroud in great shape and with Welbeck always ready to substitute the Frenchman, Akpom needs to gain experience and start scoring Premier League goals. Making three appearances for Arsenal is clearly not enough to prove his abilities. It is very likely that he will spend at least one year on loan considering Wenger has sent players with a lot more experience to play for other teams. Hopefully Akpom will deliver and will prove to the Frenchman that he is worthy of being compared with Thierry Henry.
