Can Gibbs Kick On This Season?

Kieran Gibbs broke into the Arsenal first-team squad in 2010 but his progress has been limited by a string of injuries. He broke his metatarsal in 2010 and his injury problems have continued to haunt him since then.

However, he was relatively injury-free last season and made the most number of appearances in a single season for Arsenal last year. The full-back believes he is finally over his injury problems and is ready to cement his place in Arsenal’s starting eleven, according to the Daily Mail.

He said, “I feel like I’m over the injuries now, last season was definitely my best and I played the most amount of games I have in a season. So to finally show I can play regularly, I just want to build on that. And I want to play for England again, obviously.”

He added, “It’s going to be an interesting year. We were top of the league for two thirds or half of the season last year – but it doesn’t help when you lose key players at key stages of the season. I think there were other factors but that definitely played a part. But we’ve kept the squad together and added more signings.”

Do you think Gibbs can shine for the Gunners this season and help them lift the Premier League trophy?
