Best Chance At A Top Striker?

Arsene Wenger needs to make an important decision regarding his transfer plans. The Frenchman now has the chance to sign yet another important name who has been targeted by several big clubs all over Europe. Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette is according to the Mirror, available for £21m and was offered to Arsenal after the French side failed to meet the striker’s financial expectations. If rumors are true, this is a very rare chance that any manager in search for a striker should take. The big question is though: does Wenger really want a new striker?

The 24 year old attacker who impressed the audiences with his performances over the last two years is versatile and could be used both as a striker and also as a winger. He might be given the same responsibilities as Podolski who has left now. This means he could play as a number 9 but also as a left winger or second striker which is similar to what Walcott is doing.

If Wenger is not planning on bringing in some extra fire power even though he has been urged by Arsenal fans and Arsenal legends on several occasions, then at least he could consider pushing for a quality defender. It would be a pity to end up missing out on Lacazette if no other transfers are in progress.
