Arsenal fans should worry about losing Wilshere who just made it on Barcelona’s summer transfer list. The Catalans who have confirmed they will lose Xavi at the end of the season, will desperately need someone to fill in the gap which will remain after their captain will leave. According to Squawka news, Wilshere is seen as the perfect replacement for the Spaniard who already signed a deal with Raul’s former team Al-Sadd.

Despite having quite the injury history, Wilshere is definitely someone who could replace Xavi. Even with his inappropriate off-pitch life and with some dips in form, the 23 year old still remains a key player at Emirates. Losing him would be a massive blow for Arsenal who have had a lot to benefit from the England international’s determination and talent. Wilshere is seen by most as the one who will become the team captain for the years to come. It is just a matter of time until the midfielder grows up and starts leading the Gunners towards victory. That might not happen though if he decides to follow in the steps of Henry, Fabregas, Song or Vermaelen. Granted the fact that all of them were not in the best of terms with Wenger or were actually looking to leave, there is still a chance to see Wilshere say goodbye to the Emirates. Up until today, Wilshere has made 148 appearances for Arsenal and could become one of the North Londoners’ most iconic players if he decides to stay and that is still quite likely when you consider that Barcelona are under a transfer embargo until 2016.
