Arteta Shows True Dedication Towards Arsenal

The 33 year old Spaniard should definitely be given the chance to end his career at the Emirates after a heartwarming statement which should make a lot of players rethink their take on football. Arsenal’s captain, who has been out for the last three months due to a calf injury and an ankle problem, refuses to sit down and talk about his future with the Gunners until he knows the outcome of his recovery. This is the kind of attitude which is rarely seen among footballers especially at his age. With probably 2-3 years left until he stops playing, Arteta would prefer not to extend his deal with Arsenal knowing he will be on the bench. Wenger is more than keen on keeping the Spaniard in London for at least one more year. His influence will be hard to match regardless of who will come to the Emirates to fill his spot. Arsenal’s boss is surely thinking of Coquelin as well who needs a player like Arteta to show him what being a leader is all about.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal will wait for the Spaniard to complete his recovery which is expected to be concluded sometime during the month of May. Apparently Arteta will not need more than 5 minutes to negotiate, showing once more his dedication for the club is something to hold on to. The 33 year old midfielder is determined to be extra careful and go through all the necessary recovery steps in order to continue playing at the highest level possible resuming next season with a solid pre-season. Hopefully he will stay at the Emirates for one more year and help the Gunners with his experience and excellent leadership skills.
