Arsenal’s Youth Team To Receive Major Upgrade

Arsenal are close to securing two of the most promising youngsters to emerge from French territory. Wenger’s much younger compatriots are among the highest rated players of their generation and have apparently snubbed several other teams including Manchester United and Liverpool in order to come to the Emirates. Even though nothing is set yet, TalkSport predicts 17 year old Rayan Souici and 16 year old Yassin Fortune are hours away from reaching an agreement with the North Londoners.

Apparently Arsene Wenger’s influence was the key element in convincing the two youngsters to leave France. Fortune who is a member of France’s U16 team is currently developing at Lens’s youth academy. He has yet to be featured in any games for his club team but has already scored 4 times in the 7 appearances made for his home country. Fortune was linked to Manchester United on several occasions but apparently Wenger knew exactly what to do to determine one of Europe’s best future strikers to snub all offers and negotiate with Arsenal.

Souici who has been playing for by Saint-Etienne since 2013 and was a colleague of Fortune’s in France’s U16 team has also snubbed an offer from Liverpool to open talks with Arsenal. The 17 year old is considered a major asset for France who already call him the new Paul Pogba.

It is nice to see Wenger has not changed his ways completely. Even though spending big is spectacular, it is great to know Arsenal may soon have a lot composed of club developed players who are dedicated to the Gunners. That is something money cannot buy.
