Arsenal vs Norwich: Match Preview and Predicted XI

Arsenal are set to make their 14 minute plane journey to Norwich for their Super Sunday clash. Arsene Wenger is expected to start star man Alexis Sanchez despite the Chilean suffering a minor hamstring injury. The Gunners slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Brom last week, ending their 6 match unbeaten run. However, a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday will have surely calmed any potential concerns that fans may have.

Norwich have won just one game in their last eight in all competitions, dangerously close to relegation. Their fixtures throughout the Christmas period are worrying, so gaining anything from Arsenal will be a huge must for the Canaries.

As earlier mentioned, Alexis Sanchez is expected to feature in the game, as well as Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who have both overcome their hamstring problems. However, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky’s absence showcase Arsenal’s injury woes.

Former Arsenal player and now Sky Sports pundit, Paul Merson, gave his prediction on the game. The sometimes controversial 47-yea-old believes the Gunners must win the game.

“Arsenal have to win this. I said that last week and they lost, but this is a similar game. They will miss Coquelin. For all the talent they have in the team they couldn’t afford to lose him. But if Arsenal get going I think they’ll have too much for Norwich.”

Here’s how we think Arsenal will line up:

Cech

Bellerin – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Monreal

Ramsey – Cazorla – Ozil

Oxlade Chamberlain – Giroud – Sanchez
