Arsenal vs Newcastle: Predicted XI

Arsenal face Newcastle away tomorrow in the search of their second win of the season. The Gunners drew 0-0 with Liverpool on Monday, in a game they were favourites to win.

Arsenal’s centre back duo Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker missed the game against Liverpool through illness and injury, but both could be set to play against the Magpies. The only real injury doubts lie with striker Danny Welbeck and midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko may return from a groin problem, and Daryl Janmaat is available again after serving a ban last weekend and could start at right back.

Arsene Wenger has had this to say on the game:

“Maybe we are not firing on all cylinders at the moment. By definition, finishing is a little bit cyclical and it goes in cycles.”

“Teams come and defend very deep at our home… at the moment we want it so much at home that we’re trying to force it a little bit.”

“Our results away from home, with goalscoring opportunities and our finishing percentage, has been higher recently.”
