Arsenal To Replace All Three Summer Midfield Departures

Arsenal To Replace All Three Summer Midfield Departures

Good news for Arsenal fans who are in for a treat this summer. Even though nothing is confirmed yet, leaked pictures of Granit Xhaka have flooded the internet. We will wait for the club to actually publish those pictures but there’s a very small chance someone went through all that trouble to fool anyone. With that being said, it looks like this will be Wenger’s first transfer which is quite surprising considering the fact that the Frenchman usually waits until the last minute to make a bid. Xhaka is a massive prospect and might bring some consistency down the midfield where aside from Elneny, every player spent time in the infirmary. The Switzerland international’s transfer was somewhat expected but the rumors to follow were not. According to Metro, every player leaving the midfield will get a replacement. So if Xhaka will probably replace Flamini, two more need to move to Emirates to replace Rosicky and Arteta. As reported by Metro, Wenger is also after Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko – we will have to wait amd see om this one but it does have potential.

Arteta, who is rumored to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is likely to be replaced by Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko. The 26-year-old who made 39 Premier League appearances this season and provided 8 assists and was one of the stand-out players of 2016. Next to Wijnaldum, Sissoko will be one of the most sought-after names of the upcoming summer. His abilities are worth keeping in the Premier League which would be impossible if he stays with the relegated Newcastle.  The midfielder is valued at around £13million and would be an excellent addition to the Gunners’ lot. He plays a similar position to Xhaka which would put him in direct competition with the Swiss international.

Rosicky’s departure might bring in another massive talent. Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez is targeted by Wenger who is keen on signing the 25-year-old as replacement for both Rosicky and also Walcott who could be leaving this summer. When looking at the statistics, Mahrez would be a massive upgrade for the lot but as with all Leicester players, there is a question of continuity. Will any of Ranieri’s Premier League winners have the same impact on the competition as this season? There’s also the fact that Leicester might want to get as much as they can from next year so transfers might be off the table. Regardless, Mahrez would be a great addition to the team and if Xhaka’s transfer turns out to be true, there’s no telling who will Wenger sign next.
