Arsenal To Reopen Talks For Perfect Winter Transfer

Wenger needs to make up his mind as soon as possible. Chasing after too many targets could come with a risk. This summer all transfers in which the Frenchman was directly involved got finalized. The others fell through. Currently the Gunners need to find a few good players to concentrate on and stick with those choices. According to Metro, one of the footballers who must be signed by Arsenal this January is Basel’s Fabian Schar. The Swiss defender has impressed this season and looks ready to make the step to a bigger club. Unfortunately for the North Londoners, the Swiss club has made it to the Champions League knock-out stage and have a big chance of advancing after being paired with Porto. Because of that, Schar will either be overpriced or not for sale which is bad news.

Wenger will have to find a solution in order to bring in the 23 year old. Even with some of the injured players returning on the pitch, Arsenal still need major reinforcements to patch the defense. Schar is reaching the end of his contract this summer and is currently one of the most sought after players in Europe. If the Gunners do not make a decisive offer this winter, they will surely lose the chance to acquire one of the most promising defenders available on the market. A price is not yet set for Schar, but it is very likely to be in the vicinity of £20million.
