While Wenger focuses on signing new players, Premier League rivals circle the club’s youngsters. According to the Daily Star, one of Arsenal’s most promising players, Chuba Akpom is being courted by teams like City, Tottenham and Everton. The striker who is currently a member of England’s U20 team, is not yet tied up to the Emirates. A new contract seems to be on the way though as the North Londoners are looking to secure the 19 year old’s signature. It will be hard though to convince him that he has a place at the Emirates. Regardless of how good he is, he will still be second to players like Giroud or Welbeck. He could come in as a third option and replace Sanogo who will probably leave London sometime soon. Even so, the youngster looks determined to play and to make his Premier League debut. With that in mind, Tottenham and Everton have a great change of snatching him.

Akpoom’s contract will expire at the end of the season. Some offers will come sooner though in order to convince the striker to move. This January he will have to decide what will happen. Chances are if he signs a new deal with Arsenal, he will probably be sent on loan and follow in the steps of Campbell. Unfortunately Campbell did not have the best experience since signing with the Gunners. He finally received a chance to perform this year after being sent to several teams on loan but his opportunities have been too limited for him to really show his skills which is a crying shame.
