Arsenal To Catch Unexpected Break As City Place Nastasic On The Transfer List

Man City made their intentions to part ways with Nastasic clear, despite insisting that he is not for sale a while back. According to Metro, Arsenal are first in line to sign the 21 year old who is one of the most experienced youngsters out there. The center back is set to fill the spot of the Gunners’ former captain, Thomas Vermaelen who chose to leave for Barcelona. With 10 days until the end of the transfer period, Wenger will have to move fast. The youngster who is currently valued at £12million which is just short of what Arsenal got for Vermaelen. Money should not be an issue as Nastasic looks like a great investment. The downside is that the Serbian will probably want to become a team regular just as Pellegrini has suggested. With Mertesacker and Koscielny in great form, the 21 year old will have to face the same situation like the one he was facing in Manchester. On the other hand, the Gunners are very different when it comes to young players.

Apparently, Arsenal will have to fight with Juventus who are also looking to sign Nastasic. His period spent in Serie A has caught the eye of the Italian champions who are also keen on investing in young footballers. Wenger will have to move fast as the transfer period is about to end. Hopefully Nastasic will be lured to Emirates by Wenger’s excellent youth oriented policy and by the fact that the Gunners have started winning competitions after a decade long drought.
