Arsenal Target Stephane Sparagna

Arsenal Target Stephane Sparagna

Arsenal are looking to bring in at least one central defender. With so many players added to the injury list, Wenger will have to find a solution during the January transfer window. The problem is that the mid-season transfer campaigns are rarely successful. Finding the perfect players is close to impossible considering the fact that most wait until the end of the season to leave. With a transfer budget of about £20million, The Gunners are directing their attention towards Marseille’s Stephane Sparagna. The 19 year old who according to Talksport, is already facing concerning health problems, could be a decent option for a place on the bench.

Sparagna will be out of contract on the 1st of December. Marseille seem reticent when it comes to extending his stay. Most of their concerns are in regards to the dubious injuries the 19 year old has suffered over the past year. His vulnerable physique should be a red flag for Arsenal who are currently leading the race for most treated injuries in over a decade. With almost 900 injuries handled, the North Londoners are by far the most affected team in the Premier League. With that in mind, it might be very risky to bring in someone who is let go by his team because he is injury prone.

Hopefully Wenger will not make the same mistake as he did with Kallstrom and he will not waste money on a player who cannot help Arsenal. Even if options are scarce, there will surely be some other players available on the market during the January window.
